Karmiq Systems
Custom software for small to medium businesses

From the requirement to the running system.

We sit with your team, work out what is actually needed, and deliver working software quickly. Hosted for you, or running on your own machines — whichever suits how your business operates.

What we build

Built around how you already work, not a generic ERP module.

Requirement gathering

/ discovery

We come to you and watch the work happen — the register being filled in, the report being assembled, the call that gets made when something goes wrong. Most of what matters never appears in a written brief. This is where we spend our time, and it is why the build afterwards goes quickly.

  • On-site study
  • Process mapping
  • Written scope
  • Priority setting

Software

/ software

Systems that run the operation: attendance and rostering, inventory and dispatch, billing and compliance, inspection and quality records, reporting that management actually reads. We start from the formats your team already fills in, and retire the spreadsheets holding them together.

  • Web applications
  • MIS & reporting
  • Internal tools
  • Legacy migration
  • Integrations

Apps

/ mobile

Android, iOS and installable web apps for shop-floor, depot and field staff. Built to keep working where there is no signal, and to sync cleanly the moment there is.

  • Android & iOS
  • Offline-first
  • Inspection capture
  • Barcode & QR
  • Play Store release

AI

/ ai

Practical models on your own data, scoped to a result you can measure. Read figures off inspection sheets and delivery challans, forecast spares demand, flag defects from photographs, or search years of failure history in plain language.

  • Document extraction
  • Demand forecasting
  • Visual inspection
  • Search over records
  • Workflow automation

Hosted or local

/ deployment

Run it on the internet or run it inside your building — your choice, and you can change your mind later. Some businesses want access from anywhere and no server to look after. Others need the data to stay on the premises, or work in places where the connection cannot be relied on. We build for either and set it up properly.

  • Cloud hosting
  • On-premise install
  • Backups
  • User access control
  • Handover & training

Embedded and electronics work — sensors, boards and the firmware that drives them — is on our roadmap, not our current offering. We'll tell you plainly when something sits outside what we do today.

Work

Two systems, running in a railway depot.

Railway depotWorkforce & payroll input

Overtime hours, calculated right the first time

Overtime was being worked out by hand across shifts and registers, and mistakes surfaced late — sometimes only after the statement had gone out. We built a system that takes attendance and shift data in, applies the depot's own rules, and produces the overtime figures. Errors fell substantially, and most of the corrections and disputes that used to follow each cycle went with them.

Substantial reduction in overtime calculation errors

Railway depotRecords & rostering

One employee record, and a roster built on it

Staff information sat across files, registers and individual spreadsheets, so preparing a roster meant reconciling them first. We built a single employee repository — postings, grades, skills, leave — and a rostering system on top of it, so a shift is filled from current data instead of last month's copy.

One source of employee data, feeding the roster directly

Why Karmiq

Software usually fails at the requirement, not the code.

Projects rarely go wrong because someone wrote a bad function. They go wrong because nobody sat with the person who actually does the job, and the software ends up describing a process that does not exist. Then it gets rolled out, quietly ignored, and the old register comes back.

So we spend our first days with your people and your paperwork, before anyone writes anything. That is what lets us move fast afterwards — and it is why what arrives is recognisable to the people who have to use it every day. We enjoy this part. It is the reason the delivery is quick, not a delay before it.

How we work

Four steps, in this order, every time.

Talk

A 45-minute call, then a visit to wherever the work actually happens, at no charge. We want to see the real problem — the register, the queue, the spreadsheet everyone dreads — before anyone proposes a solution.

Scope

You get a written scope: what gets built, what does not, what it costs and when it lands. Fixed price where the work is clear, staged where it genuinely isn't. Nothing starts until you sign it.

Build in the open

You see something working every two weeks, not a status report. Change your mind early and it costs almost nothing — which is the whole point of showing you.

Hand over

You own the source code, the accounts and the documentation. We train your team, then stay on for support if you want it — never because you're locked in.

Who we work with

Small and medium businesses that have outgrown the workaround.

Railways & ancillaries

Depots, workshops and the firms that supply them. Workforce, rostering, inspection records and dispatch documentation.

Manufacturing & trade

Production tracking, stock and dispatch, billing and compliance for mid-sized units still holding it together with Excel.

Services & institutions

Scheduling, records and reporting for clinics, schools and service firms that need something simpler than enterprise software.

Small teams & founders

A first working version of your idea, built quickly and handed over so your own team can carry it forward.

Start a project

Tell us what's not working.

Describe the problem in plain language — you don't need a spec or a tender document. We'll reply within one working day, and if it isn't something we should build, we'll say so.
